We will continue our expository study in 1 Samuel. It’s a great time to join as Saul has just taken the throne! The goal of our class is to deepen our understanding of scripture through reading and carefully examining what God is teaching us. Consider joining this fun and interesting group of women as we dig into God’s Word! All women are welcome

Men
Men of Prayer (Men)
Men occasionally struggle with praying due to societal expectations of strength and independence, a lack of understanding about prayer’s purpose, and/or feelings of inadequacy or guilt. Some may perceive prayer as a sign of weakness or find it difficult to express themselves in prayer. We know we should lead our families through prayer and dependence on God but sometimes struggle to make it a priority. Whether you have a strong prayer life or are growing in this area of spiritual discipline, let’s learn together and support each other as husbands, fathers, friends, and role models as we discover how to build a Christ-centered prayer life that spills over into every aspect of our lives and families.

Men and Women
The Weeping Prophet (Men and Women)
We are taking a journey through the prophet Jeremiah. We will emphasize how he not only prophesied judgement for Israel’s unfaithfulness, but witnessed that judgement in his lifetime, and the tragedy of their unfaithfulness. But Jeremiah also prophesied God’s gracious restoration, to individuals and to the nation, fulfilled years later. Lastly, we hope to understand more about the great pivot of redemption history, as Jeremiah is first to talk of God creating a NEW Covenant, which Jesus later reveals when He states, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood.” This turns out to be the greatest significance in Jeremiah’s writings.

The World of Jesus (Men and Women)
The 400 years of silence between the Old and New Testaments were marked by the cultural spread of Hellenism and a new Judaism unrecognizable from the days of Babylon. This class will seek to give context to what the authors of the Gospels assumed their audience understood, and thus never wrote down. Now two thousand years removed, many strive wantingly to harmonize the Gospels. Here, we will discover why it is the discrepancies that shed the most light on Jesus' earthly ministry.
